Toddler Antics

Liana is now 27 months old, and as goofy as ever. I couldn't resist posting this series of recent "silly face" photos that she insists I take with the camera (in order for her to then see them on the screen afterward).
And here she is catching up on some important business.
She still loves reading books and sometimes asks for them to be read either very quickly or veeeerrrryyy slowly, just for fun. She is getting ever-wiser and will call us out when we don't read the words as they are written. Music is also a constant request, and she is currently obsessed with the songs from the Music Together classes that we attend. I love that she is passionate about them, but some days it's maddening to hear the same "Hello, Everybody" song for the sixth, seventh, eight time in one day. At least the CD of music is different each term! :-)

Our Little Girl definitely has a sly and mischievous side too, and is often trying to figure out how to get our attention or negotiate for what she wants. One recent Sunday morning (either out of boredom, curiosity or acting out) she decided to remove her PJ's and her #2-filled pull-up diaper and "paint" herself, her sheets, stuffed animals, books and the window in her bedroom a lovely shade of Stinky Poo. Now THAT was quite a scene when we opened the door! Fortunately, and thanks to other internet parents, we learned that there are other toddlers who do this, and usually it's just a phase. We also learned the awesome trick of putting her zippered pajamas on backwards, as a sure way of preventing this little antic from happening again. I'm a little anxious about how she will adjust to the arrival of her new baby brother, but am expecting that there will be more acting out and even more attention-seeking acts - hopefully easier to clean!

In theory, there are 5 weeks until my official due date, but that's hard to imagine given how big and uncomfortable I feel these days. In comparing photos from my two pregnancies, I am definitely carrying lower/outward and much rounder this time around. My doctor claims I am measuring on track, but I am very curious to see how big this boy ends up being. I'm sure much of the discomfort and exhaustion is related to keeping up with an active toddler, so I'm trying to give myself permission to rest when I can. I've gotten back into prenatal yoga which I love, especially because it gives me an hour and a half to connect exclusively with this baby.
Although I'm not looking forward to the initial lack of sleep and challenging times, I can't wait to meet our son and see what he looks like!  Here we are last week at 34 weeks along.

You know I'm laughing - poop painting - o Liana! Lily likes to do work meetings in her room, very productive little girl. The face montage is cute. I guess Liana silliness with straining and stretching her lower lip is like Lily raising her shoulders when she smiles - silly silly. Looking good Natalie. Funny - your boobs are probably huge too but can't tell with the basketball - quite the bump you are sporting now. Wishing you some kind of comfortable position - hang in there.

I hadn't heard of that trick of putting the pajamas on inside-out. I love it! Hopefully, Presto and I will never have to make use of it!

Also, it's great to hear that you guys (or at least Liana) love Music Together. We have been thinking of signing up Dash.
