P.S. It Was Fun

P.S. (Palm Springs) in southern California is a great place to visit in the springtime - especially when the Pacific Northwest is rainy, cloudy and chilly. We recently went down for 5 days and decided that this was a perfect amount of time. We were able to see and do quite a bit, since most destinations are within an hour drive of Palm Springs. Staying at a friend's 3-bedroom rental house, we had all the comforts of home and were able to eat most meals there. By the third night Liana was a champion sleeper, which was a welcomed surprise for us, too!

I had had a preconceived notion of Palm Springs as being a very ritzy sort of destination, but was happily surprised with how laid back and approachable the area was. Sure there were high-end resorts and some beautiful homes, but in general it wasn't as over-the-top as I expected - I guess it IS in the middle of the desert! Maybe we just visited the more low-key areas, too. We rode up the Aerial Tram into the San Jacinto Mountains (photo above), visited great local playgrounds and fountains, hiked down some neat canyons and visited Joshua Tree National Park, which was a fun day trip to see really unusual rock and tree formations. Though I'm not keen to move down there anytime soon, it was just nice to have a change of scenery, play in the desert and soak up some needed sunshine. Here are a few snapshots, and a full album of photos here.
