All in the Family

Labor Day weekend was mostly mellow this year. We did get out for an afternoon to ride the Mt. Hood Railroad - a fun little jaunt up through the hills, valleys and orchards around the Columbia River Gorge. Liana seemed to enjoy herself on her first train ride, though the vistas were probably under-appreciated. :-)

Our street also held its first ever block party on Labor Day. Good times grilling, eating, drinking and gathering around the firepit. Liana had fun getting to know some of the other young kids in the neighborhood, and we also learned some fun tidbits about our little dead-end street (originally called Meriwether Place). Sally Struthers (the actress who played Gloria on All in the Family) grew up in a house across from ours! Who knew?! All in all, it was a good way to finish up the long weekend, and we look forward to making this an annual tradition.

In other news, Liana finally (FINALLY!) cut her first pearly white on her bottom gum (you might have to look closely). Sheesh, took long enough!
