Busy times in the Maciukenas household! (Hence the major delay in blog updates) March and April have been full of many things, including major developmental updates for Liana, like rolling over, semi-sitting up, blowing bubbles, early teething, giggling and FINALLY getting more hair to fill in her bald spots! She also experienced her first bout of bronchiolitis, which was no fun, but we all survived the occasional inhaler treatments. In general, Lia is a very joyful baby these days, and her favorite activities include spinning around in the exersaucer, playing peek-a-boo, looking at books and listening to her crooner dad play songs on the guitar.

We just returned from a week trip to the East coast, where Liana had a chance to meet many of Nat's extended family and friends. The weather was phenomenal (90 degrees one day!) and we were able to see and do quite a bit during our visit. Lia was a traveling champ on the plane - sleeping, nursing and smiling for the other passengers. It was the best airplane trip we could have ever imagined with a baby. Highlights from our vacation included Easter Sunday, a visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, a day trip up to the mountains of Hunter, NY, visits with friends and a much needed date night, which included a delicious Italian dinner and a chance to see Ben Folds perform live - what a fun show that was! Thanks to Babi for babysitting Liana and giving us the opportunity. Below are a few recent photo highlights, but tons more can be seen in the galleries on the photos page.
On the not-so-fun side, we are currently in the process of "sleep training" and let's just say we very much look forward to reaching the end result - hopefully soon! More and better sleep for all of us is definitely a good thing! Stay tuned, as there might be a blog entry on that...
In the meantime, happy five-month birthday Liana!

Four generations, all together.

This looks like such a great trip! I am looking at your album too. Lia really looks like a mix of you and Tom to me. She's such a cutie, sounds like you guys are having lots of fun!!
