Welcome Liana!
We have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl! Liana Slava Maciukenas was born on Monday, November 16 at 12:52 am, weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 oz., and measuring 20.5 in. long. "Lia" has a full head of dark hair, which happily displays the little purple bow that the nurses gave her at the hospital. :-) I am still in the process of writing the birth story, but am happy to eventually share it with anyone interested...childbirth is quite an incredible experience to say the least, and believe it or not, I was overall pretty happy with how everything played out in our case. It helps that the labor was a (relatively short) eight hours long, start to finish.
Our family is now back at home - enjoying getting to know each other and recovering. So far, Liana has a sweet temperament and we both are getting "on the job training" for this whole breastfeeding thing. All in all, Tom and I are enjoying our transition into parenthood and find ourselves doting on little Lia each day. With a face like hers, it's hard not to!
Nat's mom and Liana's "Babi" (grandmother) is in Portland, helping us out in these first few weeks. It's great to have her visiting and Liana loves being in her arms. More photos of our new family can be found at the top photos link. We will surely be updating them often!
